Digby?  Digsbee???  Dixie ?!?!  ¿Di***y?

In this past year, we’ve met and introduced ourselves to thousands of people, who, despite the vast cornucopia of upbringings, life experiences, and worldviews, always uniformly react with a look of befuddlement at the name, Digsy.  So, we’re here to set the record straight.  If you ever find yourself lacking the enunciative ability to correctly conjure our name, please refer to this article.

Etymologically, the name Digsy is derived from the sanskrit word मुदिता Dhûkséh for “bountiful feast”.  The name Digsy was chosen because it provides a bountiful feast of features for its users.  Not coincidentally, the Oasis song featured on their landmark debut album,  Definitely Maybe, titled Digsy’s Dinner, also refers to a bountiful feast of lasagna.

Where many poor souls’ phonetic biases get woefully entangled is in the pronunciation.  Our allies across “The Pond” commonly get Digsy confounded with other similar words in the Queen’s english such as bigbsy, brigsby, and Eleanor Rigby.  Therefore, they may feel compelled, by their loyalty to the crown, to pronounce our name as Digsby.  However, upon close inspection, they will surely find the deliberate omission of the letter “b”.

Our southern brethren may feel a rebellious pride stream down their cheek upon pronouncing our name as Dixie.  But, we must regretfully inform our proud confederate users that any resemblance to 19th century anti-union secessionists is purely coincidental.  We fully support a wholly indivisible and United States of America.

*Side note: We are still debating the formation of a weekend parody band called The Digsy Chicks.

Regardless of the pronunciation, please take special care to maintain the spirit behind the name.  The most accurate distillation of Digsy has come from none other than the illustrious names.org.  And in tribute to this heartwarming description, we shall henceforth apply the following acronym to every aspect of our essence.  The next time you log in to digsy.ai, remember the following:

D is for dazzle, the sparkle of you.

I is for inspire, others seek your guidance.

G is for glow, the warmth of your smile.

S is for smile, it gives you face value.

Y is for yearn, your innermost desires.

At the end of the day, you choose your favorite pronunciation.  We will always appreciate and value you no matter what unholy configuration of letters you select for our name.
